But if you mean going into the sound and editing the sound quality itself (like adding echo, effects, etc), then that's a different matter - but even then, they dont cost much.

oh .. btw .. there's a prob with the mp3 format which means you can't usually concatenate mp3s together without a small silence at teh joins. (something to do with fixed frame boundaries).

the first stage of my masterplan is to simply be able to construct a hi quality music video from a music file and a single image as the cover. - from a script so i dont need to go to any effort.
It got complicated because YouTube decides a video is high quality based on the picture bit rate .. and i was using a singe image .. so i had to add noise so when it coded up it used a lot more bandwidth.
still .. i'm nearly there. .. big struggle yesterday trying to figure how (with this video script thing im using) to create all the frames i needed from the single image.
